Designed with intent

Built on nearly 20 years of experience in what makes a peer community worth a senior leader’s time.

Built upon years of experience of running communities for senior business leaders, the recent Brew summaries below give a sense of the quality of the weekly member-led discussions.

Trust

Adhering to the Chatham House Rule, and remaining free from service providers, creates the conditions for candid discussion.

Relevance

CXO is designed for corporate real estate and workplace leaders dealing with live issues, not generic management themes.

Continuity

CXO has been flowing for nearly seven years, with a structure that helps members stay connected over time.

The following summaries from our recent Brews give a sense of the quality of the weekly member-led discussions.

Strategic foundations

  • Knowledge, judgement and AI. AI is reshaping work, but the quality of questions, experience and human oversight remain essential.
  • Clear ownership and governance. Effective workplaces depend on defined responsibilities, transparent costs and accountable decision-making.

Experience and environment

  • Culture is experienced. Authentic culture is revealed through everyday behaviours, leadership example, psychological safety and a sense of belonging.
  • Resilience and adaptability. Buildings, systems and policies must be ready for disruption, climate risks and changing workforce needs.

Opportunities

  • Use AI to make time, not merely cut cost. Practical uses include automation, data insight, scenario testing and better decision support.
  • Redefine the office as a service. The workplace should support different modes of work, social connection and business performance.
  • Invest in community. Peer learning, social connection and trusted conversation create knowledge that no single organisation can generate alone.

CXO perspective: The future of work is not a binary choice between office and home, people and technology, or flexibility and control. It is a continual process of testing, learning and aligning the bricks, bytes and behaviours of work.
